- "Effect of Carotid Artery Stenting on Cognitive Function in Patients With Carotid Artery Stenosis: Preliminary Results"
Turk AS, Chaudry I, Haughton VM, et al., American Journal of Neuroradiology 29 (2): 265-268 Feb 2008. Carotid stent placement in patients with a unilateral stenosis of the carotid artery resulted in significant improvement in cognitive test scores in this highly selected patient group. Further studies are needed to confirm these preliminary observations.
- "Comparison of platinum and first-generation Matrix coils in under-packed canine side-wall aneurysms: evaluation of progressive thrombosis"
Turk AS, Luty CM, Grum K, et al., Neuroradiology 49 (11): 939-945 Nov 2007. Experimental wide-necked side-wall canine aneurysms suboptimally treated with first-generation Matrix1 coils had a higher incidence of progressive occlusion and on histological analysis showed evidence of more advanced thrombus organization than did those treated with GDC.
- "CT angiographic appearance of in-stent restenosis of intracranial arteries treated with the Wingspan stent"
Turk AS, Rowley HA, Niemann DB, et al., American Journal of Neuroradiology 28 (9): 1752-1754 Oct 2007. The CTA imaging features of in-stent restenosis are important to recognize, and the misinterpretation of in-stent restenosis as in-stent thrombus may result in inappropriate management.
