Recent Publication(s)
"MEMs-based speckle spectrometer"
Sheinis AI, Nigra L, Kuhlen MQ, Advance in Optics II 6272 62724U Jul 2006. The goal of this device is to allow the use of a diffraction-limited spectrometer on a seeing limited observation at improved throughput over a comparable seeing-limited spectrometer, thus reducing the size and cost of the spectrometer by a factor proportional to r0/D (For the case of a 10 meter telescope this size reduction will be approximately a factor of 25 to 50).
"The NIR upgrade to the SALT Robert Stobie Spectrograph"
Sheinis AI, Wolf MJ, Bershady MA, et al., Ground-based and Airborne Instrumentation for Astronomy 6269 626694T Jul 2006.
"The integral field unit for Echellette Spectrograph and Imager at Keck II"
Ground-based and Airborne Instrumentation for Astronomy 6269 626936 Jul 2006. Authors report on the design, development and commissioning of an Integral Field Unit (IFU) that has been built for the Echellette Spectrograph and Imager (ESI) at the W.M. Keck Observatory.
