Recent Publication(s)

  • "Prolonged mechanical and physiological changes in the upper extremity following short-term simulated power hand tool use"

Chourasia AO, Sesto ME, Block WF, et al., Ergonomics 52 (1): 15-24 Jan 2009. This study investigated in-vivo changes in upper limb dynamic mechanical properties and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters following short-term power hand tool operation. Pubmed/NLM.

  • "Mechanical and magnetic resonance imaging changes following eccentric or concentric exertions"

Sesto ME, Chourasia AO, Block WF, et al., Clin Biomech May 2008. This study compared mechanical response parameters and MRI relaxation parameters following submaximal concentric or eccentric exertions.

  • "A new method for estimating hand internal loads from external force measurements"

Irwin CB, Radwin RG, Ergonomics 51 (2): 156-167 Feb 2008. This study examines using force vectors measured using a directional strain gauge grip dynamometer for estimating finger flexor tendon tension. The study demonstrates that grip force vectors may be useful for estimating internal hand forces.

  • "Ergonomics Applications of a Mechanical Model of the Human Operator in Power Hand Tool Operation"
Lin JH, Radwin RG, Nembhard DA, Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health 2 (2): 111-119 2005. This paper describes a new mathematical model and its uses and applications for the design, selection, and installation of handheld power tools used in industrial manufacturing
